About our studio

Artura Studio exists to bring clarity to the way businesses show up in the world.

We work with founders, teams, and business owners who care deeply about what they’re building. Who want their marketing to feel aligned and intentional — not just polished, but purposeful. Our role is to bring strategy and execution together, so your brand, website, and content all pull in the same direction.

We don’t use templates. We start with what makes your business different, then build from there. Every brand, website, or piece of marketing is shaped around your values, your customers, and the direction you’re moving. The result is clear, considered work that feels true to you and resonates with the people it’s meant for.

Artura is led by Maddie Powers and supported by a trusted network of collaborators. When a project calls for skills beyond our core team, we bring in the right people — designers, developers, photographers, and more — to keep the work cohesive from start to finish.

Kia ora, I’m Maddie.

Founder of Artura Studio. Strategist, copywriter, and long-time small business ally.

Originally from Canada, I now call Whanganui home — a place that blends creativity, community, and connection, much like the work I do. My background spans strategy, copywriting, and digital marketing, with experience across government, tourism, product and service-based brands. I’ve worked in and alongside small teams for years, so I understand what it’s like to wear a dozen hats and still want the brand to look sharp, sound right, and lead somewhere meaningful.

I started Artura Studio for people who want more than just a service provider. You’ll work with someone who knows how to lead a project, keep it moving, and make sure it lands well. Every piece of work is shaped in partnership — with care, with context, and with direction at the centre.

More than anything, I care about marketing that feels honest, well-crafted, and built for the long term. The kind that helps people understand who you are, what you do, and why it matters.

"Maddie developed our social media strategy, resulting in the most engaged social media pages of any council in the country—a success that still holds strong four years later. I’d hire Maddie again in a heartbeat—and you should too."

About the name

Artura (pronounced Ar-tur-ah) is a name layered with meaning for us. It draws from the Celtic word “she-bear,” and is inspired by the symbolism of the bear across cultures — a creature known for strength, direction, and quiet leadership.

For Maddie, the bear also holds personal significance. In her family’s Indigenous heritage, it’s seen as a guide. That same energy is woven into how we work: with purpose, care, and the clarity to lead.
